I recently purchased some asparagus while it was on sale. However, I wanted to try something new, so I started looking around at what I had on hand. This time, I didn't have a whole lot of produce to pick from, so I kept it simple with just carrots and items from the pantry stash - sesame oil and furikake. Don't skip out on the furikake! It really makes the dish, adding a sweet and savory flavor that's full of delicious. In fact, you might even want to add more furikake. I know I did! You should be able to find furikake in the Asian section of your grocery store for a few dollars or on Amazon. I just used the basic stuff here, but there's all sorts of flavors available. Experiment around to find your favorite. :)

Oh this looks delicious. I always bake my asparagus because always turns out yucky when I make it on the stove. I have no clue what I do wrong.
ReplyDeleteOooh - I like baking asparagus too! It's much less work - just toss it in the oven and take it out. :) On the stove, I usually toss it around a bit at the very beginning to get all the flavors mixed up, and then let it sit a while, then toss briefly again. What do you do when cooking on the stove?
ReplyDeleteI love vegetables of any kind, and this looks delicious. It also looks easy and that makes it doubly good.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a fan of the easy and tasty! We really enjoyed this asparagus too. :)
