You're probably thinking how unappetizing this oatmeal looks. I mean, it's banana mash on top of oatmeal. (James even said, "looks like poo mash," but you can ignore him.)

Oatmeal is pretty unphotogenic. But, this oatmeal is meant for eating, and tasty it certainly is! And healthy too. You've got whole grains, protein, and fruit with a bit of cinnamon. Give this nutty caramelized banana oatmeal a try and see what you think!

Materials:

2 bananas, sliced
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup pecans, chopped
1 cup oatmeal whichever kind you like

Methods:

  1. Gather all materials.
  2. Prepare oatmeal - whatever kind you like. :)
  3. Place bananas and pecans in a pan, cooking over medium heat until bananas caramelize and turn amber in color. While heating, stir bananas a bit, making sure to cover pecans in glaze.
  4. Top oatmeal with mixture. Sprinkle on some cinnamon if desired.

  1. I don't care what that looks like, I know it is delicious. I love carmelized bananas! A lot of food I prepare for myself looks a little gross but tastes GOOD. Usually, the grosser it looks, the better it tastes. BTW, I love this blog but don't ever comment. I should do that more so that all the blogs I really like can know that there are readers out there, whether they comment or not. Thanks for all your hard work!
